Cristiano Ronaldo, who lost the 2015 Ballon d’Or to Lionel Messi, also made the 30-man longlist.
Juventus trio, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Gianluigi Buffon, are some of the names from Serie A, while Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Toni Kroos and Robert Lewandoski of Bayern Munich are the Bundesliga representatives.
The first 15 players in contention for this year’s award have been announced by France Football, with 15 more names to be revealed later on Monday.
