When you talk 24 you are talking about Jack Bauer with a real name Kiefer Sutherland. But his days of leading 24 are officially over. Variety reports that Fox has ordered a pilot for 24: Legacy, a "revival" of the seminal action series that will not feature Jack Bauer as its main character. Despite the absence of Bauer and all other 24 regulars (Legacy will have an all new cast), the show will stay true to the original's format; you'll see the ticking clock, and each hour-long episode will follow the day's chaotic events in real time. As for the plot, well, it also sounds very 24. Here's Variety's preview:
24: Legacy will revolve around a military hero’s return to the US and the trouble that follows him back — compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. That new character's name is Eric Carter, and he'll be joined by "a female co-lead who is a former head of CTU," according to Entertainment Weekly. That should divide up the show's focus some, though neither role has been cast yet. "It’s a very contemporary feeling story about the potential to activate new sleeper cells in the United States and radicalizing Americans," Fox Television chairman and CEO Dana Walden told the Television Critics Association on Friday. "It’s a whole new story."
