Jame Ibori was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment in April 2012 by a Southwark Crown court in London. He was said to have been released on 22 January, having completed his jail term.
It was learnt that Ibori was re-arrested to face another charge, which borders on the confiscation of his ill-gotten assets, estimated to be about 250 million pounds.
Should Ibori return to Nigeria, he would be facing Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission over corrupt related offences.
234today gathered that some of Ibori’s businesses in Nigeria are collapsing, one of them is Daily Independent newspaper, which had stopped daily publication for about 8 months, a source said.
