A 13-YEAR-OLD girl who claimed to have been gang-raped by asylum seekers in Berlin has now admitted making up the story.
The Russian-German girl, named only as “Lisa”, was first reported missing by her parents on January 11 after failing to arrive at school.
She turned up 30 hours later with injuries on her face, claiming that she had been attacked by someone of Middle Eastern or North African appearance.
The case raised tensions between Germany and Russia, whose Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Berlin of a “politically correct” cover up.
The false sex attack claim came amid heightened tensions in Germany, where refugees have been blamed for a string of rapes and sexual assaults.

Citizens have taken to the streets in protest at Angela Merkel’s open door asylum policy, which saw more than one million migrants settle in the country in 2015 alone.
In the capital Berlin, the allegations made by “Lisa” have been at the centre of calls for a crackdown on new arrivals and inspired far-right protests.
Now it has been revealed that the girl had made up the entire story and had spent the night she was thought to be missing at a friend’s house.
As “Lisa” was of Russian origin, anger over the case spread to Moscow where Mr Lavrov accused Berlin of deliberately concealing details of the case.
But she is understood to have told investigators she’d invented the attack in mid-January, which prompted police to write on a Facebook page that they’d disproved the allegations.
“She immediately admitted that the story of the rape was not true“, Martin Steltner, spokesman for the German state prosecutor, today revealed.
