One of the ISIS gunmen who brutally slaughtered an 84-year-old priest in
the French town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen in Normandy has
been named as 19-year-old Adel Kermiche.
Kermiche, who was
known to police as a terror threat, stormed the church with an
accomplice and filmed themselves slitting the throat of elderly priest
Jacques Hamel .
Both attackers were shot dead after they emerged
from the church shouting 'Allahu Akbar'. Kermiche had twice been
arrested for attempting to flee France to join ISIS in Syria, and had
spent time in prison in both France and Switzerland.
According to Daily Mail, after being
released early, he was supposed to be living with his parents in
Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray and being monitored with an electronic tag. But
under his bail conditions he was allowed to roam unsupervised between
8.30am and 12.30pm - leaving him free to slaughter the unsuspecting
priest during the attack, carried out between 9am and 11am.
