The African Youth Championship currently going on in Senegal, will come to an end on Sunday and the Nigerian Flying Eagles have secured a spot in the finals. They did so by beating long time rivals, Ghana by two goals to nil.
In the 23rd minute, Obinna Nwobodo headed in the first goal via a Ifeanyi Matthew corner kick. In the search for an equaliser that failed to come, Joshua Enaholo, Nigeria’s shotstopper denied Aboagye’s shot in the 39th minute.
Captain Musa Muhammad failed to double it in the 44th minute, but made no mistake to seal the win in the 70th minute from the penalty spot.
Manu Garba’s men will now face either Mali or host, Senegal, in the finals on Sunday.
We wish our young boys all the best.
