Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, has admitted that he made a mistake by signing Angel Di Maria last summer. Accoring to the Sunday People, Van Gaal is not ready to keep the player for one more season and it is believed United have agreed a £45million deal for the Argentine winger.
The Dutch manager does not believe that the £59.7m British record signing, will ever adapt to his famous ‘philosophy’ and is keen to replace him with Barcelona’s Pedro.
Di Maria only scored three Premier League goals, but provided 10 assists in a season ravaged by injuries and confidence crisis.
A United source said: “I think the manager realised he’d made a mistake with Di Maria and it wasn’t going to work.
“Of course, Di Maria had a four-year contract and the club could have made him stay. But the manager felt that would be pointless if he didn’t have the confidence Di Maria would produce what he wanted.”
