The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested a notorious drug baron, Chief Odugwe Joseph Azubuike, over unlawful importation of 1.025kg of cocaine at MMIA in Lagos.
NDLEA in a statement by its spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, stated that Chief Odugwe who is currently on bail over several drug charges brought against him by NDLEA was found with wraps of powdery substances that tested positive for cocaine.
Ofoyeju stated that the arrest was made during inward screening of passengers on Emirates airline flight from Dubai. He added that the wraps of cocaine were packed in duty free polythene inside his luggage, saying that the mode of drug concealment in duty free bags was similar to the last drug charge involving him.
He noted that Chief Azubuike during investigation described is action as a big mistake, but emphasised that he pleaded not guilty to previous charges where drugs were not found on him.
He attributed his crime to the handiwork of his enemies.
