234TODAY gathered that she was released by her abductors at about 12 mid-night on Friday. Her abductors were said to have left her in the Creeks where she got a fisherman’s boat to take her back to civilisation. It is not clear if any ransom was paid before her release or if any arrests had been made.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Muhammad (DSP), confirmed her release but was silent on details. Muhammad said in an sms, “Donu Kogbara has been released mid last night.” The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo, paid her a visit Saturday morning at her residence.
