A MAN bit off his wife’s nose and swallowed it because she didn’t answer his phone call, it has been reported.
The gruesome attack, on a woman known only as Ms Yang, allegedly happened during a heated argument.
Speaking on China's Shandong TV station, she explained that her husband had burst into her place of work asking why she hadn't answered the phone at 2am that morning.
Ms Yang, from Dezhou in Northwestern China, added: “The next thing I knew, he pushed my head towards the wall and ate my nose in one go.”
Doctors have said that due to the amount of tissue lost the victim will need serious cosmetic surgery, which she will have to wait three months for.
Police are still hunting for her husband, who has been missing since the incident.
