Kanye For President? That's Pretty Damn Funny -- George W. Bush

Kanye West may have sounded like he was joking when he said he’d be running for president in 2020, but it looks like he was being for real. Still, people (especially politicians) can’t seem to stop joking about it.

Since his announcement at the 2015 MTV VMAs, Hillary Clinton said she wouldn’t rule him out as a Vice President (though she might’ve been joking) and President Obama gave him some POTUS advice (though much of it was also jokey).

Now, former prez George W. Bush was asked about Yeezy 2020 and unlike Hillz or O, Dubbya didn’t even have words for Ye. Nah, he just had a chuckle.

Kanye and the former president, of course, have some history. Back in 2005, Kanye called him out on television when he said “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” during a Hurricane Katrina telethon. Bush would later call that the worst moment of his presidency, but he also said he didn’t hate Ye for it.

Even though W and others might be laughing at Yeezus, the one who knows him best, Kim Kardashian, recently assured us all that this ain’t a joke.

“I believe he is serious,” she told Vanity Fair last month. “I know that if he puts his mind to something he will do his best. It’s been fascinating to hear all the conversations that have gone on since that announcement.”
