Silicon Concepts Limited, one of the companies that provided electronic campaign services during the electioneering process has dragged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and two others before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, demanding a sum of N70 million as balance of payment for the services it rendered to the party’s Presidential Campaign Organisation, PCO.
Joined as defendants in a motion on notice filed by the plaintiff in a bit to recover the said funds are Dr Ahmadu Alli and Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, who were sued in their capacity as the Director-General, PDP presidential campaign organization and Director, Finance, of the organization respectively.
Apart from asking for the order of court for the payment of the fund, the company prayed for a leave of court granting Dr. Tony Akabuno, a technical partner and consultant to the company to be listed as witness against the defendants during the trial of the case.
However, the defendants through the statement of defence from the third defendant denied plaintiff’s claim, stating it never owed the N70 million demanded, adding that the plaintiff company never executed the contract awarded it in any way.
Silicon has averred that the defendants jointly and severally agreed to pay a sum of N100 million as a counterpart fund for the finance of the composition and broadcast of suitable campaign voice messages for the Jonathan’s presidential campaign, but reneged after part payment of N30 million at different times, leaving a balance of N70 million, which according to it was yet to be paid.
