The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned that Boko Haram terrorists are planning to abduct pupils, students or foreigners in a desperate effort to raise funds through ransom.
According to the government, the terrorists have been put on the run by the military but they are in dare need of food, medical and arms supply.
In a statement issued by the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, in Abuja on Friday, said that the planned abduction is in line with the terrorists’ new modus operandi of focusing on soft targets, having been routed from their stronghold and their capacity to stage spectacular attacks substantially degraded.
