The decision came much to the annoyance of Brazilians, as it is estimated that the country has 100 million users, and many took to social media to vent their frustration.
However, tonight, a state judge overuled the lower court saying the ban was not reasonable.
Judge Xavier de Souza said: 'In light of constitutional principles, it doesn't seem reasonable that millions of users are affected because of the inaction of the corporation.'
The investigation which caused What's App to be shut down is being conducted in secrecy in Sao Paula state and nobody knows who the plaintiff is, or what the case is about.
