Former skipper of the Army Cadet Team Major General Alphonsus Chukwu, has intensified his campaign for the sacking of the Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh.
Chukwu said Oliseh should be fired before the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.
Chukwu, who made a similar call a forthnight ago, advised the Nigerian Football Federation to sack Oliseh to save Nigeria further embarrassment.
Oliseh has been under intense pressure after the early exit of the Super Eagles in the just-concluded African Nations Championship.
Chukwu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Tuesday that he believed Oliseh’s sack before AFCON qualifier would save the nation another embarrassment.
According to Chukwu, Oliseh does not have the technical capacity to manage the nation’s national team.
He said: “Super Eagles needs a coach that has good technical training and experience to rebuild the national team.”
According to him, Oliseh has not garnered the experience needed for him to coach the senior team.
Chukwu added: “For any coach to get good result from his players, he must be a good administrator and must be technically rooted.
“NFF must take a bold decision now that it is not too late.
“Otherwise, we may face another embarrassment in the forthcoming AFCON.”
Chukwu noted that Nigeria was previously rated among the first 10 in world football ranking in the 90s, arguing that only right decisions could bring Nigeria back to soccer reckoning.
