Convicted Felon Sings Adele "Hello" Song During His Sentencing [Watch]

Brian Earl Taylor, who was sentenced to two years in prison for illegally carrying a concealed weapon and 18 months to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment, decided to apologize to Judge Darlene O’Brien with a soulful reinterpretation of Adele’s massive hit “Hello.”

"Hello there, your honor," Taylor, 21, sang at his hearing in Washtenaw County, Michigan, on Thursday, March 10. "I want to say I'm sorry for the things I've done and I'll try and be stronger in this life I chose, but I want you to know — that door, I closed.”

"And your honor I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry,” he continued to belt in front of an awkwardly quiet courtroom.

Taylor then went on to direct his remorse toward his mother and the victim of his crime with another round of soulful “sorrys” as seen in the now-viral video above. According to MLive, O’Brien admitted that the convict was “obviously a very talented young man” after his impromptu one-minute performance.

MLive reports that before he broke out into song, Taylor stated his goals of graduating from Eastern Michigan University, becoming more involved in his church and setting a better example for his younger brother after his release from prison.
