Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been charged with improper conduct following his red card at Everton on Saturday.
The Spanish international was dismissed late on following a clash with Gareth Barry.
After a heavy challenge, Costa reacted by sticking his head into Barry and then appeared to open his mouth and move towards Barry's neck
Referee Michael Oliver brandished a second yellow card for the Chelsea striker - although Barry has since confirmed there was no bite.
The charge relates to Costa's behaviour AFTER the red card with the Spaniard refusing to leave the pitch and instead continuing his aggression towards the referee...
An FA statement read: "Diego Costa has been charged in relation to Chelsea’s FA Cup sixth round fixture against Everton on Saturday 12 March 2016.
"It is alleged his behaviour, after being shown a second yellow card in the game, amounted to improper conduct.
"He has until 6pm on Thursday 17 March 2016 to respond to the charge."
Barry took to social media app Fanzai on Sunday to confirm Costa did not bite him during the clash at Goodison Park.
"Seen a lot of talk about the incident involving me and Diego Costa in the game last night. For the record he did not bite me."
A Chelsea spokesman also stated: "Diego spoke to club officials after the game and expressed regret over his reaction to the challenge from Gareth Barry that led to his red card.
