Re-run Elections: Army Major, Soldier Killed in Rivers

Barely 48 hours to the re-run elections in Rivers State, an army major and a soldier have been killed in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.

THISDAY gathered that a troops from the 2 Brigade were ambushed by people suspected to be sea pirates and in the exchange of firepower, the two soldiers were gunned down.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Capt Eli Lazarus, has confirmed the incident.
