A resident of the village, who preferred anonymity, confided in our reporter yesterday that the incident happened at about 5:42 p.m. in the bush inside a gutter, some few metres away from the village primary school.
He said the accused allegedly lured the girl with undisclosed sum of money to the bush, after he discovered that her parents had gone to the village market.
He said a resident who went to defecate in the bush caught the accused defiling the girl.
“It was someone who went to excrete in the bush that saw the man penetrating the girl. He then raised alarm and other members of the village arrested him and took him to the village chief’s palace,” he said.
He said the village chief later handed over the accused to the police, after some angry mob besieged the palace demanding the suspect be handed over to them to be dealt with.
When contacted, the Kwali Divisional Crime Officer, Mr. Musa Ezekiel, said he was not aware of the incident, as he was not at the station , even as he promised to get back to our reporter later in the day after enquiries.
City News gathered that the accused, who is a friend to the father of the girl, always pay a visit to the girl’s house to interact with the father.
