64-year-old Woman Dupes Estate Management Firm of N3million

64-year-old Iyabo Adeoti has been charged to court for allegedly duping an estate management firm of N3 million.

According to Punch,

“Adeoti, a trader, who lives at No. 6, Old Otta Road, Alagbado, Lagos, is now facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining under false pretence.

The prosecutor, Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offences were committed on May 10, 2016 on AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos.

Ogu said that the accused sold a landed property she never owned to a company, Aina Gold Estate Management, for N3m.”

Speaking before the magistrate, here’s what the prosecutor, Ogu, said:

“When the company was about to take possession of the property, it was discovered that the accused was not the owner. All efforts to collect the money failed and the accused was apprehended.”

However, Adeoti pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted Adeoti N1m bail with two sureties in like sum, and also ordered her to pay N100,000 into the court chief registrar’s account as part of the bail condition.

The case was adjourned the case till July 13, 2016, for trial.
