NFF Appoints Paul Le Guen As New Super Eagles Coach

Paul Le Guen super eagle new coach
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed former French International, Paul Le Guen as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.

Recall Mr. Le Guen was shortlisted for the post of Nigeria national team coach in July 2016, alongside Tom Saintfiet and Super Eagles caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf but the former Cameroonian coached edged the duo as he has been named as the new coach of the Nigeria Senior male football team.

In a related development, Super Eagles caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf has rejected an opportunity to assist Le Guen which has led the NFF to throw the vacant position of an assistant coach open.

Confirming the incident, an official of the NFF said:“As it is now the position of the deputy has been thrown open because Yusuf is still insisting that he would not work as an assistant to Le Guen. Those who worked on their entries picked the Frenchman and with the hope that Yusuf could learn a lot from him for the immediate future but he (Yusuf) appears to have some other ideas so the federation will now have to consider a new person altogether to replace Yusuf”.

Meanwhile, Le Guen will be unveiled on the 18 of July by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
