Real Madrid Feared The Worst For Cristiano Ronaldo After EURO 2016 Final Injury

REAL MADRID feared the worst following Cristiano Ronaldo's injury in the Euro 2016 final, according to reports in Spain.

The 31-year-old, who limped off just 25 minutes into the match following an innocuous tackle from Dimitri Payet, has always been fortunate to avoid major injuries.
But Madrid were worried that his luck had come to an end, with Marca saying the image “struck fear into the nerve” of the Spanish giants.
His injury did not hurt Portugal too much though, with Swansea flop Eder scoring the winner in extra-time to pip hosts’ France to the prize.
It is currently unknown how long Ronaldo will be out for, but Zinedine Zidane will want his star man back as soon as possible as he hunts down a first league title since 2012.
They also have the small task of retaining the Champions League to prepare for, something no club in world football has been able to do under the current format.
Ronaldo remains Madrid's No.1 star despite the growing influence of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema's exploits.
The Portugal forward initially struggled under Rafa Benitez last season, but his in January coupled with Zidane’s appointment sparked an improvement in form.
Ronaldo ended the campaign with 51 goals across all competitions - meaning he has now netted 50 times or more in each of the past six seasons.
His exploits for club and country are also expected to win him a third Ballon D’Or of his career, meaning he would regain the prize just a year after surrendering it to fierce rival Lionel Messi
