Today, Nelson shared a video of them having fun with Snapchat filters, and next she followed up with a heart-melting photo of them kissing for the first time since their brutal fight.
“Even Politics couldn’t break us,” Nelson captioned the photos, before adding, “#bestfriend.”
Last May, the former Ghanaian besties got embroiled in the messiest feud after Nelson headlined the #DumsorMustStop campaign, bringing the world’s attention to the declining supply of electricity in Ghana. The actress was heavily criticised in some quarters, by people close to President John Mahama, and one of the critics turned out to be her bestie, John Dumelo, who solidly stood by the President’s side during the bad publicity.
Upset, Nelson accused Dumelo of kissing their president’s ass, and he fired back at her on Twitter. The former sweethearts dragged themselves on the social media platforms, radio, and all available media, and when the feud got to a fevered pitch; they deleted all their fun memories from their social media platforms. It was as though the favourite duo never existed.
In February of this year, Yvonne Nelson featured John Dumelo in her 15-second Instagram clip; they had met at an event. The meeting was completely civil.
Now, they are returning to where they used to be, and to show just how dedicated they are this time, they sealed the new union with a kiss, sending social media on a meltdown.

Meanwhile, John Dumelo has also posted a picture of them kissing. And he added the sweetest note on his Instagram. “We might have different political ideologies. Our views might be different on many subjects, but at the end of the day we need to set a good example to people.” He started, “Peace is one of the things I preach when I tour Ghana. So how can I preach peace when I’m not at peace with my friends? What example am i setting…” See the full note below:
We are happy for them!
