Arsenal are attempting to agree new contract deals for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, according to a report.
The Mirror claim that the Gunners are trying to negotiate a deal with midfielder Ozil and are keen to secure his future, with his current £140,000-a-week contract set to expire in 2018.
It is said that the 27-year-old wants a big improvement on his current deal and Arsenal are set to agree a £200,000-a-week contract.
The report further details that Sanchez is also eyeing an extension on his existing deal and wants £200,000-a-week with a buy-out clause.
Sanchez, 27, has made a fantastic start to the new season and has been used by manager Arsene Wenger as a central striker.
The Chile international has scored five goals in just seven appearances and is expected to feature against Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The ex-Barcelona man has made a great impact since he arrived at the Emirates in 2014, scoring 47 goals in his first 100 appearances for the Gunners.
German midfielder Ozil is another key member of the Arsenal team and often dictates the play for the team.
Ozil moved to London in 2013 and has scored 22 goals and supplied 43 assists in just 123 games for Arsenal.
He recorded 19 league assists last campaign, which was just one short of Thierry Henry’s record, and helped Arsenal to a second-placed finish.
Wenger will be hopeful of securing the long-term futures of the important pair as the club searches for its first league title since the 2003/04 season.
In other Arsenal transfer news, the club have sent scouts to monitor a prolific striker who is also being monitored by Liverpool.
