Arsene Wenger: This Is What I Think About England Manager Sam Allardyce

ARSENE WENGER hopes Sam Allardyce "clears his name" after the England manager was caught offering advice on how to bypass transfer regulations.

England boss Allardyce was filmed by The Telegraph explaining how to get around the FA's rules on third-party ownership.

He also negotiated a £400,000 fee for services with a fake firm from the Far East.
Express Sport understands the FA are considering Allardyce's position in light of the last night's revelation.

But Arsenal boss Wenger wants Allardyce to be given the chance to put his version of the story across.

"You have to let Sam Allardyce defend himself and I just hope he will clear his name," Wenger said ahead of Arsenal's Champions League clash with Basel tomorrow (7.45pm).

"Third party ownership should not be allowed, I have fought against it a long long time, the club should own 100% of their players."

Asked again about Allardyce, Wenger said: "It is not even in my mind. I'm all about here.
