The President elect of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, visiting Nigeria for the first time as President elect, attended the Imo Thanksgiving Day, yesterday, 19 December 2016.
The President elect decided to stay on for the ceremony which took place in Owerri. Akufo Addo at thanksgiving occasion, expressed his delight to be at the thanksgiving in Owerri, and spoke of the bilateral relations of Nigeria and Ghana and how it affects Africa as a whole. He stated that he is determined to establish good relations with the Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, calling it a matter of great strategic importance. “Together we can work towards the construction of Africa,” he said, adding that it was essential to improve the conditions of living of Africans, calling it the challenge of our time.
Akufo-Addo expressed, “For that to happen I need the Support of all of you, especially that of the men of God,” he said, so as to carry out his leadership duties.
