Last night, the MMG boss announced the arrival of his 9th studio album ‘Rather You Than Me‘ and it got everyone’s attention for two reasons: the rapper shaded Birdman in the track ‘Idols Become Rivals’ in which he spoke about Birdman’s sour relationship with Lil Wayne; and then, Rick Ross dissed Nicki Minaj in the track “Apple of My Eye’, where he talked about how he told Meek Mill that he didn’t trust the female MC.
And that was how Rick Ross, who lately had only come up in discussions about his failed relationships, became a trending topic.
In the track, the music boss said this of Nicki Minaj: “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki, instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance/We all make mistakes, let’s not be specific/You rather be a killer, than be a statistic.”
This pissed off many people, especially since Nicki Minaj was only emerging from her beef with Remy Ma. Fans felt Rick Ross was also using Nicki Minaj to get people to listen to his album, plus they found his comment about the female rapper corny because Nicki had stood up for Meek Mill all through their relationship, testified in court for him and didn’t meddle when the Philly rapper was feuding with Drake. And it was only after their relationship failed that Nicki Minaj reunited with her label mate Drake.
Now, Rick Ross is shading Nicki, and trust Meek Mill to side with his boss in this beef:
While many people are waiting for Nicki Minaj to react to the latest war, folks are going in on Rick Ross as we speak
