It seems like there is a duel of power and hierarchy among the Obas of Yorubaland.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II walked into an event where he exchanged pleasantries with the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnanyelugo Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe who was seated next to him with a handshake.
He moved on to say his greetings to the Oba of Lagos, His Highness Oba Rilwan Akiolu and he was given a curt wave of the hand.
Nigerians have waded into the matter, stating that in the olden days, this would have caused a war between Ife and Lagos.
Some alluded to the fact that the Ooni was snubbed because of his young age while others are plainly blasting the Oba of Lagos for being rude.
