He's a modern billionaire whose college invention has given him a business stronghold with more than 1.4 billion people worldwide. But Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stunned commentators by putting just over £3 million into education for young immigrants in the US.
The 31-year-old and his wife Priscilla announced in a Facebook post that they'd made the donation to an organisation called The Dream which helps undocumented young people in the States attend college.
The post said: "Hundreds of thousands of young immigrants are part of our communities and attend school legally in the United States.
"Many of them moved to America early in their lives and can’t remember living anywhere else. They want to remain in the country they love and be a part of America’s future.
"But without documentation, it’s often a struggle to get a college education, and they don’t have access to any kind of federal aid."

"America was founded as a nation of immigrants," the post continued. "We ought to welcome smart and hardworking young people from every nation, and to help everyone in our society achieve their full potential.
"If we help more young immigrants climb the ladder to new opportunities, then our country will make greater progress."
It's a bold gesture from a man who himself came from humble surroundings, albeit always understanding the power of education.
Born to dentist dad Edward and psychiatrist mum Karen, Mark was the youngest of four - Randi, Donna and Arielle.
Brought up in Dobbs Ferry, New York, his tech stripes were on show from an early stage, when the keen young coder used his Atari BASIC computer to invent a messenger Zucknet at just 12-years-old.
From there he built a music streaming programme that got AOL and Microsoft sniffing around, but it wasn't until he started at Harvard in 2002 that his life changed forever.
When he kicked off 'The Facebook' with some friends from his student halls, he was so smitten that he dropped out of his second year to concentrate on making it a success.
The company raised almost £8 million when Mark had only just reached 21 and when Facebook went public in May 2012 and raised around £10 billion, the biggest tech float in history according to Business Insider.
So it's no wonder he's finding ways to spend his own cash.
When he married Priscilla in 2012, it was low key - guests thought it was a party and it turned out to be a surprise ceremony - but there are hints about the money spent on the event.
Taking place at their swanky Palo Alto home - bought for £30million - Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day was the wedding singer - and Mark himself designed a ruby rock for his bride's finger.
And then the honeymoon, which wasn't to be sneezed at, where the pair jetted to Rome in their private plane and stayed in a five-star hotel with rooms from £570 a night.
Since they married, they spend two weeks every December travelling - sometimes to China to see the in-laws.
He wears hoodies and jeans that are Gap-worthy, drives a Volkswagen GTI worth around £20,000 and is never seen flashing the cash.
Unless you count the £62 million for 750 acres of secluded land on Kauai, a Hawaiian island.
He shelled out £6.2 million on a San Francisco mansion - and did £600,000 of work on it, including adding a £37,000 greenhouse.
But the most recent philanthropic gesture adds to the donations he's made over the years which include £670million to a community foundation and hospital.
