The service which is the first of its kind in Nigeria also offers free airtime to customers once they subscribe to the service and view advertisement when they receive calls on their phones.
Airtel customers who register by downloading the App will receive a still image advert whenever they receive calls on their phones and get a point automatically for every still image that appears on phone. Each point which is equivalent to N1 will be be accumulated and be later converted to airtime depending on the amount of points won.
Newa added “Customer is required to accumulate a minimum of 100 points to be able to convert the points to airtime.Once the points have been accumulated, customer can request for a conversion of the points to airtime. The airtime is immediately topped up on the customer’s phone.”
Chief Innovations Officer, SIDON Media Limited and founder of ‘MyAds PAY’,Simeon Ononobi said he and his co-founders created the App in order to solve a huge problem between advertisers and customers. “The App will help customers get a feel of the brands objectives, and also help improve brand products with its feedback mechanism,” he said
Redeemed airtime can be used for data, SMS and calls across all networks. The Application which is free at the moment can be downloaded from the Google Playstore and only available to android phone users
