CSKA Rejects Leicester's £23m Bid To Sign Musa

Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa has set his sights on winning a third Russian Premier League crown after his club, CSKA Moscow severally rejected offers including from the English Premier League table toppers, Leicester City during the winter transfer window.

Leicester according to the Daily Mirror tabled £23million bid before the Super Eagles captain, but CSKA refused to let go the forward who dazzled at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner, who has scored 10 goals across all competitions this season, reminded CSKA of his worth with a goal to help beat Valarenga in a friendly last Wednesday.

Musa, who signed a new four-year deal last year has already won the Russian league twice, in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

The Jos-born star seems to have put behind him a failed move to England as he has scored two goals in the pre-season camp ahead of league resumption.

"The pre-season is going on well and my target is to help my team CSKA Moscow finish what we started in the first round, that is to win the league,” he told AfricanFootball.com

“I am also looking forward to scoring more goals in the second round to actualise the dream of winning the league."

The former Kano Pillars forward has scored two goals in three pre-season games in Spain.

CSKA Moscow tops the Russian league table with 37 points in 18 games, three points clear of closest rivals Rostov, and will face Dynamo Kiev in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League.

The Russian league will resume on March 5.
