    May Day: Gov Oshiomole Increases Minimum Wage In Edo State To N25,000

    The governor made the announcement at the grand finale of event to mark the 2016 Worker’s Day, held on the 1st of May. All state public servants will now be set to earn at least N25,000 monthly.

    Workers in the Ego Local Government Council, who haven’t been paid for 13 months will have all arrears paid in the next two weeks, Oshiomole added.

    Oshiomole’s decision comes amid a push by the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress to increase the National Minimum Wage from N18,000 to N56,000.
