The Police at the Ilasan Division, Lekki, Lagos, Western Nigeria have arrested a Nigerian businesswoman, Onaivo Salihu, 30 for allegedly slapping a Chinese woman, Anugwon Chenshien Xu on her face during an argument over a minor accident at Shoprite Plaza, Lekki, Lagos.
After investigation, Salihu was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on a count charge of felony to with, unlawful assault and slapping.
The Police alleged that the defendant was arrested and arraigned in court following a complaint by Anugwon Chenshien Xu that Onaivo Salihu slapped her on her face during an argument when her vehicle allegedly scratched her vehicle at Shoprite Plaza, Lekki, Lagos.
Police said the offence is punishable under section 170 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
Salihu pleaded not guilty to the allegations when the charge was read to her in the open court.
Magistrate O. Owunmi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till 26 July, 2016 for mention.
