Femi Falana (SAN) has urged the federal government to declare state of emergency in Ekiti State if Governor Ayodele Fayose refuses to resign.
Falana said: “Gov. Fayose should be stripped of the immunity he is currently enjoying by declaring state of emergency in Ekiti, then arrest him to face trial for corruption.”
He stated this during an interactive session with some selected students of Nigerian Law School in Abuja on Thursday 7 July, 2016.
It will be recall that some people suspected to be members and loyalists of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state staged a protest demanding for the resignation of the governor following the corruption allegations leveled against him by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The call for state of emergency in Ekiti and the arrest of Fayose will not come as a surprise to many, especially those people who accused Falana of partisanship and bias towards the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
