Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel on Tuesday maintained that only the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, has the capacity to lift the country out of its present economic challenges.
He said this during the official flag-off of the campaign for the Edo State PDP governorship flag candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in Benin, the state capital.
Representing the South South governors of the party, Emmanuel said the party was ready to reclaim the state from the All Progressive Congress, APC, and keep the region as a stronghold of the PDP during the September 10 gubernatorial election in the state.
The Governor described Ize-Iyamu as a pastor who is out to reposition the state.
According to Emmanuel, “by doing so the party would deliver dividends of democracy and engender steady growth and development in the oil-rich region.”
