Speaking during the sit-out of the group at the Day 840 of the girls’ abduction, the strategic chairperson of the group, Aisha Yesufu stated that the group had continued to be the voice of the girls and won’t relent on their promise.
She added that though the girls have stayed too long in the hands of the Boko Haram sect, the group have not yet given up hope on them adding that they will continue with their advocacy, come rain, come shine.
Recall that the group in a press release stated that its advocacy for the girls will not stop until the remaining 218 Chibok girls were given justice by being rescued from the hands of the Boko Haram sects who have held them captive for over 800 days.
In a released signed by leaders of the group, Aisha Yesufu and Dr Oby Ezekwesili, the group vowed to continue to stand and be the voice of the missing girls which was the promise it has made to the parents of the abducted girls.
“We hold strong to our vow made to the heartbroken parents of our #ChibokGirls that until, and unless, we reach such a time as factual evidence is provided to the contrary that our girls are alive, our demand remains,” .
The group while lamenting that the girls have stayed too long in captivity, stated that the remaining 218 Chibok girls needed to be rescued as it was their right as citizens of the nation.
“Our hope has endured for over 800 days so far and shall not waver until our President, the Federal Government and the Military give our 218 girls the justice of rescue that is owed them as citizens of Nigeria,”.
The group has earlier expressed shock that 810 days after the abduction of the Chibok school girls, the federal government has not offered the public any credible information on the whereabouts of the abducted girls.
