West Ham United got off to a dream start to life in Stratford, downing AFC Bournemouth 1-0 in front of a capacity crowd on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers moved to their new base after farewelling Upton Park at the conclusion of last season and have now played their first ever Premier League match at the venue, defeating Bournemouth thanks to Michail Antonio.
The visiting Cherries were dogged and made West Ham sweat, but Slaven Bilic’s side eventually capitalised in the 85th minute after Harry Arter was given his marching orders eight minutes prior.

The Irons opened London Stadium in a preseason friendly against Juventus, but Sunday’s clash was the first time competitive top tier football had been played at the venue.
