Peter Schmeichel has praised Jose Mourinho for the instant impact he has had at Manchester United since taking over at Old Trafford in the summer.
The Red Devils have made a strong start to life under the Portuguese coach, who was brought in to replace the sacked Louis van Gaal back in May.
United have won all three of their opening Premier League games as they made a strong start to the top-flight campaign.
Mourinho’s men also secured their first piece of silverware for the season after they beat Leicester City to lift the Community Shield trophy back in August at Wembley.
Mourinho is now preparing his troops for their crunch derby clash against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
And former United goalkeeper Schmeichel is very pleased by what he has seen from the Red Devils so far this season under their new boss.
Speaking in an interview with FourFourTwo, Schmeichel said: “We have not been playing too well over the last two or three years, it’s been up and down.
“The performances have been inconsistent – some good, some mediocre and some very, very bad.
“But it’s all turned around now.
“We’ve got Jose in and Jose’s done really well. You can see straight away his influence on how the team is performing.”
