Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says it comes as no surprise to see Christian Benteke thrive at Crystal Palace following his summer switch to Selhurst Park, Sky Sports report.
The Belgium international became Palace’s record signing when he traded Liverpool for South London in the summer after just one season with the Merseyside club.
Benteke struggled to make headways at Liverpool and found himself on the bench most weeks, yet at Palace the contrasting style of play has certainly helped him rediscover his top form in-front of goal.
Speaking ahead of Palace’s home clash with Liverpool, Klopp suggests he is not surprised by Benteke’s form this season but ultimately admits the deal made sense for his side.

“It's no surprise. We knew about his qualities. Every player needs the space to develop and show things. The move made sense. Palace bought the player,” Klopp told reporters, quoted by Sky Sports.
“In the last year he always showed his qualities, especially good at heading. We had to make decisions. I'm always honest. My door is always open. The agreement we have is work hard."
Benteke, 25, has started seven Premier League matches for the Eagles this season, scoring three goals and averaging an impressive 9.1 aerial duels won per league encounter.
The former Aston Villa man is among the very best players in England when it comes to aerial threat, therefore his good form is hardly surprising considering Palace’s preference of getting the ball wide.
In Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha, Benteke has two wingers who are more than capable of providing the right sort of service. Liverpool will certainly have their work cut out this weekend.
