Photo: Nigerian Woman Jailed in the UK for Paying Man £1000 to Pose as Her Baby’s Daddy

Fausat Abolore has been sentenced to prison for deceiving the UK system by paying a man £1,000 to pose as her baby’s father in order to avoid deportation.

Reading out the sentence today in court, the Judge, Mark Bishop, slammed both adults to 18-months in jail. “These sort of offences undermine confidence in the system of immigration control,” the judge said.

“You, Abolore, were seeking to cheat your way into being allowed to remain in this country. Ezekpo, you agreed to help her in making that possible,” he added.

Earlier, we reported that Abolore was arraigned before the Inner London crown court after she was arrested for paying Anthony Ezekpo the sum of £1,000 to pose as her newborn baby’s father. UK authorities busted her after a check of her Facebook page revealed the baby’s true father, Peter Gentry, cradling his son at a naming ceremony on September 15, 2014.

Both Abolore and Ezekpo denied the one count charge of giving false information when registering a birth and Abolore denied seeking leave to remain in the UK by deception. However, according to UK Standard:

“Fausat Abolore and Anthony Ezekpo were found guilty by a jury of conspiracy to breach immigration law and giving false information when registering a birth.

Abolore was also found guilty of seeking leave to remain in the UK by deception. She had earlier admitted possession of a false identity document.”
