Seun Egbegbe Granted N5m Bail in Bureau De Change Fraud Case

Seun Egbegbe has been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos today, Sahara Reporters confirms.
According to the media house, the film-maker and his accomplice, Mr Oyekan Ayomide were granted bail of N5m after being remanded in prison for allegedly defrauding some Bureau De Change operatives of over N40.647 million between 2016 and February 2017.
Recall that weeks ago, the ex-boyfriend to actress Toyin Aimakhu, was arrested in Lagos for allegedly attempting to dupe 33 Bureau de Change operators of N40,647 million, $29, 800,00, and £4, 815.
He pleaded not guilty to the fraud charges, and the presiding judge, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo, remanded the accused persons to prison custody.
Here’s the bail condition the judge gave:
Both accused should be granted bail of N5million with two sureties each in a sum of N2.5million. That is four sureties altogether. One of the sureties must be a civil servant who has attained level 16 while the other surety must be a land owner in any part of Lagos metropolis.”
The landowner must submit Certificate of Ownership of the landed property and while the civil servant must submit his international passport to the court. The four sureties must swear to an affidavit while the house and office addresses and telephone number will be verified by the court,” the judge had added.
Egbegbe will remain in prison custody until he fulfills the bail conditions.
The filmmaker’s court issues are not yet over.
Recall that last year, Egbegbe was previously busted for robbing a phone store in Lagos. A neighbour even outed him, saying it was the 6th time the filmmaker would be caught in theft cases. In November 2016, Egbegbe was then charged to court.
We wonder how long it will be before Seun Egbegbe is dragged off to court again for the iPhone theft case.
