On Friday Wichai Kwanprom streamed the attempted killing on Facebook Live - days after a man in Phuket hanged his 11-month-old daughter in an online video before killing himself.
In distressing scenes, Kwanprom put a rope around the neck of the child, stating: 'This rope will send me and my daughter to a better place.'
He later told police he did it to get his wife's attention, accusing her of cheating on him, Coconuts Bangkok reports. He was released without charge.
The horrifying footage was filmed at Kwanprom's home in the Phetachabun province in Thailand.
He released his daughter after she started crying.
Police lieutenant colonel Kritsanapong Patsit, said the father was released after having his 'attitude adjusted'.
He said he returned from working in Bangkok to find his daughter alone at home, while his wife was allegedly with another man.
