STUNNING photographs show inside the haunting Chinese ghost city Ordos – the giant uninhabited town larger than Las Vegas. With miles of empty streets and abandoned tower blocks it looks like the set of a sci-fi movie about a post-apocalyptic future.
The eerie city covers 137 square miles of desert, 350 miles from Beijing.
Shanghai-based photographer Raphael Olivier captured the haunting cityscape in a new series called 'A Failed Utopia'. Ordos was designed as a state-of-the-art hub in Inner Mongolia. Construction started in 2004 until 2012. It still boasts the stunning Ordos Museum with its strange, alien design.
